Through this new epistolary writing project The Yellow Inquiry, we want to think through the veins and pulses of our practice and existence, and unlock the pleasure of doing this with you. Starting in 2019, we’ve been sending out bimonthly entries on a constellation of topics about the Loess Plateau. We want you to read and give us feedback, but what feels most necessary to us now is the gesture of writing and sending them. We thought this would be a good way to be with you for as long as this gesture lasts.

Since February 2019, Future Host has been releasing their bi-monthly erotic speculative nonfiction series titled The Yellow Inquiry. The dubious email address of their agent Linda, mailbridepro@protonmail.com, has caused the writing to end up in subscribers’ spam folders. This afternoon, Future Host invite guests to read from the Yellow Inquiry, including the latest installment in two parts, “Jaywalking” and “The Sleeper”, dedicated to the month of June. Born in dreamworlds and catastrophe, Future Host are two female artists and writers behind a plural name. They are a new species found to be neither Asian, Asian American, or immigrant. Espousing the perspectives of realism and emotional mismanagement, they write with ecstasy and readiness.
